Piano lessons, Organ lessons & Music Theory lessons in Chichester
Tim Ravalde teaches the piano, organ and music theory in central Chichester.

Lessons during Lockdown
During corona lockdown, music lessons via Zoom have proved popular and successful for both new and existing students. Teaching in person will resume when it is safe; alongside this Tim will continue to offer Zoom lessons for people who want them.

More about Tim's teaching
Tim teaches people of all ages and has helped to prepare students for Grade 1 exams, Fellowship diplomas, and everything in between; he is equally happy teaching people who don’t want to go anywhere near an examiner. Some of his students come every week; some come so infrequently that he isn’t sure if he is still teaching them. Most are somewhere in the middle. Some people come for one lesson and decide that’s enough. All of this is fine.

He teaches on a newly restored Bechstein grand piano which sounds like this:

When he isn’t teaching on the organ of Chichester Cathedral, he teaches on a 2-manual Hauptwerk instrument that sounds like this:

He is the organ tutor at the University of Chichester and teaches the piano at the Prebendal School. He is a Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music in Piano Performance, a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists, a music graduate of Cambridge University, and a widely experienced performing musician.
